I'm going to do some spring house cleaning and really enjoy the time off to spend with my family!

I am looking for any teacher appreciation promotions around town to be able to have fun with my kids and spend as little money as possible. Any suggestions?

I already had my spring break now 2 weeks ago!!

I'll be finishing some ELA centers I'm creating for the end of year and taking a few days to visit Washington DC with my husband and kids.  We tried to sign up for the easter egg hunt on the White House Lawn, but I think you needed to be online by 12:01am or something.... we surely couldn't get in!   We'll be going to the Smithsonian - I've never seen our constitution and can't wait to do so!    It's a much needed break!

We lost 4 days of our break because of snow in February and March.  My son is getting married in Alabama the weekend after Easter so I will be taking days off anyway to travel there for the wedding!

Yay Spring Break!

My family is taking a cruise to Mexico.  Hopefully my daughter will be well by then.  What a time for the flu!

With the economy, every little bit helps. Who dosn't like to look nice.

So many choices, so many things I could do. First, Spring Break will give me the opportunity to focus on my graduate school portfolio, which I will have to defend in less than 3 weeks! O.O I'll can finally plan some guided reading activities for my little cherubs. But Spring Break isn't ALL about work. I've already taken advantage of the sunny days we had during the weekend to prepare my raised garden beds, spend some time pampering my herb garden, and to get some much needed rest! With the cold weather here once again, I'll just snuggled up with a blanket, a good movie, and a hot cup of cocoa. :) I guess the cats will join me too!

I am planning all or most of my lessons for the last six weeks coming up. Here in Tennessee my independent Christian school will finish in early May.  I am not a new teacher, but I am teaching multiple grades in elementary school for the first time as opposed to the usual middle school language arts. Therefore, I have to do a lot of planning.  It is a challenge, but still fun and rewarding.

Last week I had a sleep over at school (WEDJ). The girls and I along with two group leaders prepared 50 bags of toiletries and 50 bags of lunch and took it to the homeless shelter in DC.

The women were very grateful.

Our next visit would be on mother's day to take clothes and flowers...If you want to be part of this project...let me know....it is very rewarding

now that spring break and Easter are over... ?

Hoping the weather gets better for us and kids for rest of spring break.

I am in my last three days of break. The first was spent with my daughter as my fellow teacher husband taught intersession. This second week our daughter has returned to high school and we are enjoying time alone. After knowing him since we were 12 it's still great. We are doing the most mundane things, but it's quality not quantity which counts. I speak from 22 years of marriage experience and I am 46. Just know one thing for sure Teenage years can be great if you remember your time and try to explain to them the way you wish your parents would have to you. Also if you use a few f bombs and s bombs and let them too discreetly it creates a pressure release. Lastly, when your daughter is 5'9 and you are 5'3 1/2 and she wears a size 11 shoe and you wear a 7 it's great. Each of your shoes are your own. However everything else is up for grabs. I am short waisted and 38D and she is long waisted and 36DDD. We have the same inseam.

I am relaxing. I refuse to move from my easy chair to do anything except eat.

We had spring break the second week in March! Way too early! Now, I'm ready for a real "spring" break- And so are the kids!

Oddly as it seems, one of the reasons I am looking forward to Summer Break is to plan lessons outside the daily routine. I need more time for creativity to come to fruition!

I've had a long break because of cancer.  Three months in the hospital and then eight rounds of chemo.  I've had a break since last summer. I can't wait to get back to school in the fall.  I'm sure I'll be glad for next year's Spring Break.  I miss teaching!

I have a year round schedule so I actually get a whole month off! Sounds like a lot of time but it really isn't especially when I have so much to do...like deep clean my house! Other than that, I plan to just relax and spend some time with my 3 kids.
