I plan to update my wardrobe for the coming year.  I live in Nevada so it is still hot when school starts (August 24th for students).  I will buy a few pieces to complement the things I already have, then in late September /October I will buy more items.  Of course, I will be checking out the summer sales.

The beginning of school is always exciting. This year I will be teaching 2nd grade so that is a new curriculum to teach.  It will be nice seeing the teachers and students after having the summer off.  

I am a brand new teacher this year and I am getting ready to start on the 10th of August with new teacher orientation. I am excited to get into the classroom for the first time on my own and put all my good education to use!

I am a career switcher, and this will be my first year in the classroom.  Little if any of my current wardrobe translates to teacher-wear, so I am starting with the basics and will be steadily building from there!  School starts after Labor Day, and I can't wait to get into the classroom!

School starts in Virginia after Labor Day, but teachers report the week before.  As a veteran teacher of almost 30 years, I already have much of my wardrobe, but I am always looking for new additions!  I want to wish all new teachers a wonderful and productive year!

I have some good staples, but I love to find modern shirts and accessories to add to my collection.

I recently moved and am searching for a new teaching position.  Hopefully, when I find one, my new paycheck will have some money left over for some new clothes!  I do LOVE shopping at Loft!

They have a lot of really cute upscale tshirt type tops.  I bought 4 different ones in 4 colors and styles plus a new white shirt with a gray vest. All so nice and just the right level of dressiness!

Well the time has come. School starts in two weeks and it's time to update my wardrobe. The Loft ths the 1st stop!!!!

I have the hardest time with temperature changes. In Michigan the fall days can be very hot with no air conditioning. I'd love to feel cool and comfortable all day.

As a recent college graduate and a new teacher I'm in the process of building a more professional wardrobe. It's difficult to afford all these new clothes, but my college look just won't cut it. With school starting in three weeks I've just began updating my wardrobe. I don't feel ready yet, but I think I will by the time school begins. I love the Loft look. I'm obviously still young and it's nice to shop at the Loft because the style they offer is young enough for me to feel comfortable but professional enough to wear to work everyday.

As much as I LOVE fashion, I think its really difficult as a teacher to dress professionally while still maintaining one's own style and spirit. I think Loft lets me keep it all together. I get to be professional, comfortable, and frugal all at the same time.

I can always find the perfect wardrobe at the Loft.  I'm a Marisa but I can pretty much wear it all.  It's great having Petites to choose from as well and they are always having great sales.  I'm a Texas and it stays warm sometimes through November so I try to choose things for back to school that can get me through hot, warm, and cool seasons.

I just bought yesterday a cute tee with pretty sheer petals across the top. It gives a simple tee a unique look! I also bought a v-neck with ruffles. The color is a pretty green. There was a cute summer dress on sale, but I had to focus on back to school clothes!

I teach in Nashville, TN  where it is pretty hot until late September.  I need to find pieces that are sleeveless but are a nice silhouette for a jacket or sweater.  I also need to dress "business casual" so I can meet parents, but survive 7th graders all day.

I've gotten my teacher wardrobe at Ann Taylor Loft for years now. School starts next week, with the students coming on Wednesday. I'll be there three days before that because I've had to move classrooms and I'm starting a new program and curriculum, with a team-teacher and a project-based technology enabled classroom. BIG changes. My two new outfits from LOFT will launch my first few days with style. I hope I can go back for a few more soon! It's so hot right now, it's hard to shop for some kinds of clothes.

The school year begins on Sept. 10 so just about a month left of summer. I never really feel ready because each year brings new challenges and unexpected surprises. However, I am currently on my sixth class of the masters program which I will complete in April 2010. My specialization is in reading and literacy developement. I am excited to try some of the new learnings and strategies with my students this year. So for that reason, I am anxious to apply these new skills to my classroom instruction.

Do I want to update my wardrobe for the school year - DEFINITELY! However, because teachers do not receive a paycheck in the summer, this time of year is always tight financially. I really do appreciate that the LOFT values teachers by giving us great deals. I hope to purchase a few things to freshen up my wardrobe now, and in October I plan to add more to my fall wardrobe.

Fall semester begins at the end of August. I update my wardrobe with trend accessories. This year, I have purchased leggings and flat shoes to wear under my shorter dresses and skirts. They really saved some clothes from being given to Good Will.  

This is my 16th year of teaching and I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.  I have three teenagers at home and so am ready for THEM to have more structure in their lives.  I have shopped twice already at LOFT for new items. I love the fall colors this year- greys and purples.  The jackets are perfect for my climate- South Carolina- where one day it is hot and the next day you need another layer.  Good luck everyone with the new school year!

This is my first year of teaching (I just accepted a position as assistant professor at a local university) and I want my students to not only learn but see me as an authority on the topic. This week the new teachers in our district began working, next week all teachers report back, and the the students begin on August 24th. I would love to update my wardrobe for the fall, but on a teacher's salary, I'll probably just by a few outfits with pieces I can mix and match.

My school doesn't start until after Labor Day. It is always refreshing to start a new school year, even ones that you know are more demanding than previous years. My school is getting a new principal and I am looking for a new wardrobe that shows my personality, while still maintaining a professional feel to it.  

I am heading back to school after being off 3 almost 4 moths after the birth of my 4th child.  I desperately need to update my wardrobe as I still have some "baby fat" to loose.

I absolutely love The LOFT! It is my favorite store and the clothes hold up so well. In fact, I have several things from LOFT that are now too big and they look brand new. I am looking for a way to sale these items because they are worth more than I can get in a garage sale. School in the Houston area starts Aug 24, and I am not ready for summer to be over yet. After I send my first one off to college, I will be shopping for myself. It is always a treat to shop there. I teach pre-school music and it is very active with 500 students, so I like comfortable, but definitely "in style" clothes and accessories. I start after Labor Day. This summer has been an unusual one as my husband has been fighting a serious illiness. As he regenerates- my special time off from caregiving will be to sneak off to the loft!

August 26th is the first of three teacher days and the kids begin the 31st. I am a private music teacher as well as a dance instructor.. I also work as an office administrator for the dance school.. So I need styles that will allow me to look professional AND that will allow for movement should I be needed at the last minute to warm up or take over a dance class at the very last minute and I am not in my dance clothes.. I was looking at some of the knittted skirts, wrapped jersey tops etc and they would be PERFECT for me.. I can go right from a flute lesson to the studio and if needed to warm up a class until the teacher gets there, I have freedom of movement to get the classes up and moving!

I am looking forward to new clothes and I hope LOFT can give me ideas for a positively fascinating look for my new school year.

On August 24, I will begin my 31st year teaching.  In the past ten years or so, I have watched teachers' apparel take a nose dive (hoodies, shorts, ripped jeans, flip-flops)!  How can we expect to be treated as the highly educated educators that we are unless we present ourselves in that way?  Teachers, please present yourselves professionally.  You will not regret it.  I suspect that if you are participating in this forum, through Ann Taylor, I am preaching to the choir!

In my district in Washington state, students start Sep. 2. We ease back into the schedule with a 3-day week, then a 4-day week after Labor Day. We still don't get out for summer until June 17th! My wardrobe goal this year is to "invest" in the clothing I buy. I teach kindergarten.  We started August 17th.  I am exhausted, excited, challenged, and anxious.  I would like to purchase an entirely new fall wardrobe.  I always struggle with putting pieces together that are comfortable and still look professional enough for a classroom.  The biggest challenge for me is that I teach kindergarten.  I am up and down off of the floor often and need clothes that accommodate that as well as items that are machine washable since we tend to get messy.  :)  I can't wait to start shopping!  So glad the Loft has petites.  I am not "petite" but I sure am short!  It's hard to find pants to fit.  Thanks!

The first day of school is Monday, and I have to say, with as much preparation I've done this summer, I still don't feel ready! (Do we ever?) I am definitely updating my wardrobe- more than half of the clothes I bought last year don't fit! Which means I get to go shopping!!!!! With this Northeast Ohio weather and the freezing temps from the air conditioning inside my school, I always have to layer!

thank you, I work with adolescents with special needs in a community setting. I need to dress nice for work everyday and when I meet with administration and parents. I think it is very important for teachers to look professional in order for our profession to be appreciated for how important it is!  Loft clothes allow us to afford fashion and professional attire on a "teachers" income!

I believe that teachers should look their best, because we set a standard for our students to look up to and when they witness us wearing the same attire they wear we do not set ourselves apart and it diminishes the level of respect the students feel when they view us.  I love the classic looks from the loft I feel trendy yet businesslike.  I always start my school year with pieces from the loft.

I'm a computer Lab Teacher and I love Ann Taylor Loft the clothes are so affordable. My daughter just graduated from college and got her degree in Special Ed. I took her to the Loft to buy her interview outfits she landed a job in 6 days.

This is great, but I'm wondering why there are not more plus sizes offered.

First day for students is September 8, but I start about a week earlier.  I'm both nervous and excited since I'll be joining a new staff at a different school.  I don't feel ready at all!  I need to set up my classroom from scratch, meet with my new grade level team AND get some back to school clothes! At least I have two more weeks!  I'm looking forward to updating my wardrobe.... My goal is to wear better quality clothing without losing the comfort factor, and still look professional and chic.

I agree with Samantha S. - I teach at a college and when I first started I realized I really needed to update my wardrobe to look current.  I've been trying to add more pieces each season.  This season I'm looking for a vest, a belted cardigan, and some ruffle-front tops.

I teach in South Carolina. The weather is very hot here. I have decided to shop for back to school clothes in September. I think some of the clothing items I would really like to purchase will be on sale by then. The good thing about living in an area with such hot weather is that you can buy the summer clearance items at very reasonable prices.I did pick up a couple of tops and a skirt and dress from the clearance section that I will incorporate with some of the clothes I already own.

I love the style and fit but don't love that hems, buttons and pocket seams come undone during first wearings.  Use more thread and backstitch, please:-)  I even had a seam come out in the bootie of my pants while I was teaching.Yikes!  I just bought the metalic trench and was showing it to my friend and my hand went through the pocket seam. Love the fit and style...just wish they would hold up better.

My school restarted on August 20th, so it's already back to school for me- I'm an English teacher in Japan, so our schedules are a little different! (laugh) I wasn't ready for school to restart but after a week I've gotten back into the swing of things... and I'm glad school is back in session! I'm not buying new items from LOFT for the fall, but I plan to buy some things from LOFT when I get back to the states around Christmastime. Like a brand-new suit (matching pants and skirt), 'cause my old LOFT suit has seen better days!!! I love LOFT! It's perfect for business and the classroom which I love, because I teach business classes and kids (though not at the same time!) and I desperately need a suit that is just that flexible!!!

I am leaving GAP and Anthropologie behind for their clothes, even in the Petites never fit my "shrunken" size anymore. Ann Taylor Loft is giving me the best ideas around right now for I am a teaching lifer (high school English) who refuses to accept the dowdy, aged uniforms of my peers without making the horrid mistake of going for 16! THANKS for filling a much needed "gap."

I go to school all year long and I feel my wardrobe becomes so tedious and boring. I love to go into the Loft and find clothing that fits well and I can wear it not only to school but to the grocery store. It also make me feel good about my self an all the work I do.

As a librarian it is important that I look and feel my best since, I am working with students, faculty and community. It was great to see elegant fall clothing at the Loft this week.

I am ready for the new year but my wardrobe isn't!  As Fall approaches I like to carefully shop for a few new pieces each month to update my current clothes.  A few purchases per month makes it easier on my budget and the Loft sales, coupons and great clothes makes it even easier!  Sue

I need comfortable but stylish buttoned jackets for my classroom.  It is often cold in my classroom, but when I start to get moving (I'm a music teacher-- we dance!) I get warm and like to remove my jacket, which is why I bought a cute blouse for underneath! So, really I need two outfits in one! The Loft has great looking jackets and blouses!

School begins (with meetings aplenty!) on Tuesday, 9/1.  I went to the Loft today....still not really eager to go back to school.  I was more interested in jeans than work clothes, I admit it!

I am SOO sad.  I just bought my school clothes with my wonderful discounts.  After one of my very long first days at school, my husband (we are newlyweds on a budget) took me to dinner.  I went into the ladies room, then returned to the table, a few minutes later I realized I left my brand new purple cardigan in the bathroom stall, I returned to the ladies room and it was gone. People are just mean!

I use to shop Ann Taylor but the styles changed.  I'm glad to be back for the new looks.

I am starting my new teaching job next week.  I just turned 40 and received a $50 gift card to Ann Taylor Loft for my birthday.  I can't wait to use it towards a new wardrobe and start my school year off looking great!

I can't wait to go to the Loft Outlet with my good friend today.  The deals are great, and the clothes always look good.  

My sister and I are teachers. We both love Ann Taylor and mostly window shop together whenever possible.  My sister has been going through a financial hardship for several years.  She just got a new job as a teacher in a better location and slightly better pay  ...... but does not have a nice professional wardrobe to start her new job in Sept.  I would like to buy her a Ann Taylor wardrobe since I know her taste and her size. I think this would make a great gift for her.
