Still to this day it makes me smile.&lt;/p&gt;

This past July I received a phone call from one of my student&amp;#39;s sister to tell me that I needed to come over to their house because her brother had sneaked &amp;nbsp;mangoes from the Dominican Republic in his suit case. Customs took all the other mangoes except the ones from my student&amp;#39;s suitcase. &amp;nbsp;He told the custom agent they were for his pregnant teacher. &amp;nbsp;Not only was I so blessed by this it has turned out to be a story that will go down in my baby&amp;#39;s baby book for all eternity. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

However, this turned out to be a cool bonding experience for my class that year and one we all look back on and laugh even though it was really bad! &amp;nbsp;What else can you do! &amp;nbsp;Of course, I am well know in my county as the etacher who almost burned the school down- Literally! &amp;nbsp;Hint to all teachers- NO CANDLES. &amp;nbsp;Glade plug ins work great!!!&lt;/p&gt;

As we were pushing our cars along the table top the little boy said &amp;quot;car&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;me car&amp;quot;. His mom who was close by began to cry and she said &amp;quot;You don&amp;#39;t know how long I have waited for a two word sentence.&amp;quot; &lt;/p&gt;

I try to make history come alive for my students and this was definitely one of those times. The students were amazing and their reflections so insightful.&lt;/p&gt;
